Arrised edge Available for mirrors All mirrors, sharp edges have been removed from the glass. Set as default for safety.
Polished Edge
A smooth slightly-rounded edge, Great finish for most applications.
Beveled edge
A narrow (25mm) tapered edge smooth ground into the surface
of the mirror giving a pleasant decorative effect. ( different bevel widths are availble on required 10 -40mm )
SPECIAL NOTICE
We can not supply Glass with straight cut edges unless we know the express purpose
for which it is intended is safe.
Mirror glass come primarily in two thickness's / gauges, 4mm and 6mm. Whilst both give a beautiful optical reflection it is often deemed necessary to use the thicker glass when the mirror becomes over a certain size, we recommend, should your size go over 1.2m in any dimension then the thicker 6mm glass would be advisable.
20mm Screws and caps: These shorter screws are great for fastening mirrors to your wardrobe door. Remember to check the thickness of your door first.. Product AC021
40mm Screws and caps: Standard screws for fastening mirrors to wall. For plasterboard wall also order AC003 from our accesories section.. Product AC008
4mm & 6mm J Clips: Simple fastening, allows for the easy replacement or removal of the mirror at a later date.. Product AC005
Mirror Adhesive: One of the easiest ways to put uo a mirror, Permanently sticks your mirror to the wall.. Product AC015
Clear Clips: Comes as a set of 4 clips, to hold the mirror to the wall around the edges.. Product HF002
Hanging Plates: These stick to the back of the mirror, enabling you to hang the mirror like a normal picture.. Product AC026
Mirror Holders: These lovely fittings allow the mirror to be tilted when on the wall.. Product HF001
Foil Backing:
This is used to protect the silvering from water and salt deterioration. Always advised on mirrors in moist rooms such as bathrooms or kitchens, it helps protect from premature silvering deterioration. It is mirror adhesive compatible too.
Clear Safety Backing: This is a heavy duty polypropylene clear film with a long ageing acrylic adhesive which when applied to the back of a mirror will hold it together safely if broken. Meets BS6206 Class B standards and tested to European standards EN12600 with a class 2B2 Pass. This is ideal if fixing a mirror in a critical area (such as low level or near/on a door).
This type of backing is not mirror adhesive compatible and does not give any protection from silvering deterioration. So only suitable if fixing with screws or clips. Clear Safety Backing is not available when requesting adhesive to hang your mirror.
